Late Saturday night Jayson released the title matches booked for our next signature event, MAWL Showdown. From first looks, this is going to be the craziest night MAWL has seen in quite some time. This list is also not without some controversy, which seems to be a growing trend in the Owner's Office.
The night will kick off with the MAWL Internet Championship match featuring newly crowned champion Minion squaring off against The Machine. Once again, we see fellow Legion members facing each other in title matches, as members of Legion seem to hover around the top of rankings. We'll see if the Legion bond can hold together through another battle.
The MAWL X-League Championship returns in full force at MAWL Showdown. The X-League equals no count outs, no disqualification, falls counts anywhere... just vicious, brutal wrestling. Like most events in the past, the X-League Championship will be decided in a four-way match. At MAWL Showdown we will see Mikey Malicious, JC Malicious, Osiris and Jose Alejandro go toe-to-toe-to-toe-to-toe in match certain to leave MAWL fans in awe.
The MAWL Tag Team Champions, Orient Express, continue to dominate the division as they strike down anyone who stands in their way of holding the gold. This month they will face familiar challengers from the past, Jason and Dragon. Respect returned this year to fight the forces threatening to overthrow the command of MAWL. Now, Respect will get the chance to dethrone part of those forces.
Jackmann shocked the world when he returned to MAWL at Madness last weekend. Now going by his real first name, Dane Shadow earns the spot to face Tyler Banks for the MAWL Apex Championship. Alienated once again from his brother, Jayson, it will be interesting to see if Dane Shadow can make it on his own in the new and turbulent MAWL.
To add a dash of controversy to the soup of MAWL Showdown, Jayson has booked himself in the MAWL World Championship match, even though he ranks well under the true contender. To make the match even more interesting, the MAWL World Championship will be contended in a Triple Threat match with No Disqualification. The third man in the mix with Jayson and current champion Death, is the true contender and former champion Blade. Jayson, obviously noticing the forthcoming dispute, noted with the release of the title matches, that he would be addressing the MAWL community in the coming days.
So, we are set for an exciting event at the end of April. There is sure to be some tension in the weeks leading up to the event as well. MAWL Showdown begins April 28, but don't miss the fun to come.
